National Interns' Day... or, as we call it, "Kristin's Day"

Retail Execution blog dots divider

For National Interns’ Day, we wanted to take a moment to recognize, appreciate and celebrate our very own intern, Kristin Finical.

Kristin joined our team in May from the University of Arkansas. She’s a Marketing Major, a Supply Chain Minor and an all-around lovely person… who can now add “Marketing Specialist for Movista” to her résumé.

The "Internview"

We thought today was a great opportunity to sit down with Kristin to talk about what she’s learned in her first 60 days as an intern for our busy (and fast-growing) software company.

What is your favorite part of working at Movista?

I always feel so welcome AND that my voice is heard. The people are all so friendly and helpful, and it really makes me love coming to work every day. I also love that I am making a difference, even as an intern.

What was the most unexpected thing you discovered about working here?

How fun the work environment is. Movista knows how to have fun and still get stuff done.

Would you recommend applying at Movista to a friend?

100% YES! Movista is such a caring and hard-working company where you’ll always feel welcome.

What advice would you give someone who was looking to join our team?

The best advice I could give is to be yourself, bring ideas to the table, and don’t be afraid to let your voice be heard!

What’s been the most valuable experience for you in your internship?

I have learned SO much. Working for a smaller company has allowed me to see all aspects of the business and really get a full picture of all the work that Movista does. Like a peek behind the curtain at what it takes to run a business like this.

What excites you about your work here?

Learning different aspects of marketing. So far, I’ve gotten to do a lot of content marketing – social media and blog posts – but I’ve also gotten to work on other areas, too, like research, trend watching, and getting to learn just how much time and effort it takes to execute different marketing strategies.

What nuggets of wisdom have you picked up from our Co-Founders?

The most important thing I’ve learned from Stan and April is that dedication will go a long way. If you are determined and have passion, you can accomplish anything.

Spoiler Alert: She's Staying!

While we’re on the subject of accomplishments, we’re thrilled to announce that Kristin has accepted our offer to stay on with Movista, part-time, after the fall semester starts. We are looking forward to the chance watch Kristin continue to grow and learn during her time with us.
