As part of their strategy to innovate and drive their software development efforts, Movista recently hired Joel Sporleder as Vice President of Technology. In his role, Sporleder has been charged with leading innovation, execution and expansion efforts for the company – to align with the company’s position as the most robust retail execution software.

“Movista’s culture has been so impressive to me – the team’s desire to take care of each other, focus on our customers’ needs and develop amazing software solutions,” Sporleder explained.

He brings more than 20 years of invaluable leadership experience in merchandising, supply chain technology, big data and project management. His background as a software engineer in merchandising technology with one of the largest retailers in the world made him a perfect fit for strengthening the Movista mission – and a candidate the company is thrilled to add to their roster of world-class talent.

Sporleder’s hire followed last year’s announcement that the software firm earned a $12 million growth investment led by Level Equity, a New York-based software-focused growth specialist. As part of this plan Movista earmarked funds to develop new product features, accelerate innovation, invest in talent, and expand sales and marketing.

When asked how he was settling in after his first few months with Movista, Sporleder said, “The most fun part of my job is being part of a team that moves fast using the latest technology and is willing to take risks that make it possible to delivering the best experience to our customers.”

Movista was recently named one of the Best Places to Work in Arkansas for 2019 by the Arkansas Business Publishing Group, its second year on the list. Founded in 2010 by retail veterans who understood the need for a smart solution to the issues experienced working with and managing a distributed workforce, the company pioneered the use of smart device applications to manage mobile employees and contractors. More than 40 enterprise clients use Movista’s smart platform, and demand for smart device software in the workplace has more than doubled for three consecutive years, growing Movista’s recurring revenues more than 300% since 2015.

CEO and Co-Founder, Stan Zylowski, sat down with Sporleder recently to learn a little more about the man who's helping drive Movista's technology forward. Click the link below to hear the podcast:
